History of Daysdale
Daysdale has a history that goes back to the late 1800s.
Early Buildings and Services
The Daysdale Post Office opened its doors on February 15, 1876. It helped people send letters and packages for many years. The post office eventually closed in 1993.
In 1876, a place called the Daysdale Hotel was given a special license. This meant it could serve drinks to people. Sadly, another hotel, Price's Hotel, was completely destroyed by fire in 1878.
Daysdale School
The Daysdale School was started in 1883. This happened thanks to the hard work of a local politician named Mr. George Day. He was a Member of the Legislative Assembly (MLA).
More Hotels and Shops
The Exchange Hotel also burned down in 1899. But it was rebuilt and opened again in late 1900. The new hotel even had a bigger cellar with a bar inside. By 1913, Daysdale had several important places. These included a blacksmith's shop, a hotel, the post office, a school, and a general store.

Daysdale has a strong history in sports, especially football.
