DeAndre John Lansdowne, born on June 6, 1989, is an American professional basketball player. He currently plays for the Rostock Seawolves in Germany's top basketball league, the Basketball Bundesliga.

DeAndre played high school basketball at Sandia High School in Albuquerque. He then played college basketball for the Fort Lewis Skyhawks in the NCAA Division II. After college, he took a break from basketball until 2015. He then signed with a team in Mexico. Later that year, he moved to Germany, where he played professionally for four years. In 2019, he earned special honors while playing for Löwen Braunschweig. He has also played in Italy and France.

Early Life and High School Basketball

DeAndre Lansdowne was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico. When he was six years old, he was adopted by John and Betty Lansdowne.

He went to Sandia High School, where he played as a point guard and small forward. In his junior year (2005–06), he showed his skills by averaging 4.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game. He was also recognized as an All-Metro Honorable Mention.

During his senior year, DeAndre was a star player for the Sandia Matadors. He averaged 18 points, 11 rebounds, and 4 assists per game. He earned first-team honors for All-Metro and All-District. He was also named Metro Player of the Year. Besides basketball, DeAndre also played soccer at Sandia.

College Years and Records

After high school, Lansdowne chose to attend Fort Lewis College in Durango, Colorado. This college's team, the Fort Lewis Skyhawks, competed in the NCAA Division II.

In his first year, DeAndre averaged 7.8 points and 2.9 rebounds per game. He was named the RMAC West Division Freshman of the Year. In his second year, he became a regular starter. His averages improved to 16 points and 4.9 rebounds per game. He was named RMAC West Division Defensive Player of the Year. He also made the All-RMAC West Division First Team.

Before his junior year, DeAndre was named RMAC Preseason Player of the Year. He scored a career-high 35 points in a game against New Mexico Highlands. He also had two games where he achieved a double-double (scoring double digits in two different stats). He finished that season averaging 21.7 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He received several awards, including All-RMAC First Team.

In his senior year, DeAndre was again named preseason RMAC Player of the Year. He started most of his team's games. He averaged 15.3 points and 4.8 rebounds per game. He also recorded two double-doubles that season. DeAndre Lansdowne holds the record as the all-time top scorer for Fort Lewis. He scored a total of 1,861 points during his college career.

Becoming a Professional Player

After college, DeAndre wanted to play professional basketball. However, he didn't get any offers right away. So, he decided to continue his studies and worked as a bricklayer and laborer.

Playing in Mexico and Germany

After four years away from competitive basketball, DeAndre received an exciting offer. A team from Mexico, Pioneros de Delicias, wanted him to play in their state league. His highlights video on YouTube helped him get noticed.

Soon after, Hertener Löwen, a team from Herten in Germany, contacted him. DeAndre moved to Europe and played his first professional season in Germany's ProB league. This is the third level of German basketball. In one game, he scored an amazing 46 points. In another, he grabbed 20 rebounds. He averaged 22.9 points and 7.5 rebounds per game that season.

His great playing with Hertener Löwen caught the eye of the Hamburg Towers. They signed him for the next season, moving him up to the second level of German basketball. He played 27 games for Hamburg Towers, averaging 12.3 points and 5 rebounds per game.

Reaching the Top League in Germany

On July 21, 2017, DeAndre signed with Löwen Braunschweig. This team plays in the Basketball Bundesliga, which is the top basketball league in Germany. In his first season there, he averaged 14.7 points and 4.1 rebounds per game.

For the next season, DeAndre's scoring average increased to 19.3 points per game. His team even made it to the playoffs. His strong performance that season earned him a spot on the All-BBL Second Team.

Time in Italy and France

On June 27, 2019, DeAndre signed with Italian team Basket Brescia Leonessa. This team plays in the Lega Basket Serie A. He played 21 games for them, averaging 13.3 points per game. He also got to play in international club games for the first time, in the 2019–20 EuroCup Basketball.

On June 8, 2020, DeAndre signed with SIG Strasbourg, a French team. They played in the LNB Pro A league in France and the Basketball Champions League internationally. For three years, he was the team captain for Strasbourg.

Back to Germany

On June 26, 2023, DeAndre Lansdowne signed a contract with another German Bundesliga team, Niners Chemnitz. He played for them until 2025, before joining the Rostock Seawolves.
