De Borgia is a small community in Mineral County, Montana, in the United States. It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it's an area the government counts for population, but it doesn't have its own official local government like a city or town. In 2020, about 91 people lived there.
The community gets its name from the nearby St. Regis River. This river was named after Saint Regis DeBorgia, who was a Catholic missionary. The local post office first opened in the year 1900.
Geography of De Borgia
De Borgia is found in the northwestern part of Mineral County. It is located on the north side of Interstate 90, a major highway. You can get to De Borgia by taking exit 18 from the interstate.
The St. Regis River flows south of the highway. It moves southeast until it joins the Clark Fork at a place called St. Regis. Two smaller streams, Deer Creek and Twin Creek, also flow into the De Borgia area.
The total area of De Borgia is about 2.7 square miles (7 square kilometers). All of this area is land, with no large bodies of water.
