The De La Salle Institute was a private Catholic school in New York City. It was a coed school, meaning both boys and girls could attend. The school first opened in the 1800s.

From 1902, the De La Salle Institute was located at 106 West 59th Street in Manhattan. This building was very close to Central Park. It also stretched through to 107 West 58th Street.

School Moves and New Buildings

Schools sometimes move to new buildings, and the De La Salle Institute did too! In February 1921, the school's building on 59th Street was sold. The new owners planned to build fancy apartments there.

In July 1922, the De La Salle Institute moved to a new, smaller building. This new home was at 19 West 75th Street. It was located between Central Park West and Columbus Avenue.

The school moved again in August 1924. This time, it bought a modern, fireproof building. This last location was at 160 and 162 West 74th Street. It also had an entrance on 163 and 165 West 73rd Street.
