Deedee Magno Hall, born on April 2, 1975, is an American actress and singer. She is well-known for being part of the pop music group The Party. Many people also know her as the voice of Pearl in the popular Steven Universe cartoon series and movies.

Early Life and Growing Up

Deedee Magno Hall spent her childhood in two different places. She grew up in San Diego, California, and also in Orlando, Florida.

Deedee's Acting Journey

Deedee started acting when she was very young. She was on the Disney Channel show The All New Mickey Mouse Club from 1989 to 1991. She also appeared on the show sometimes in 1992.

She also sang as Jasmine on the soundtrack for Disney's Aladdin: A Musical Spectacular. Deedee was a student in the 1993 movie Sister Act 2: Back in the Habit. She also lent her voice to a character called Princess Dinner Guest in an episode of Happily Ever After: Fairy Tales for Every Child.

Musicals and Stage Shows

After being in the music group The Party, Deedee started performing in musical theater. One of her most famous roles was playing Kim in the Broadway show Miss Saigon. She later performed this role again when the show toured around the country.

She also played the character Nessarose in the first national tour of Wicked. She was in this show from December 2006 to November 2008. Deedee then played Nessarose again in the San Francisco production of Wicked. This show ran from January 2009 until it closed in September 2010.

In October 2015, she joined the cast of the US tour of If/Then. She played "Cathy and others" and was also a backup for other main roles. Deedee also starred as Diana Goodman in the Next to Normal musical in 2017.

Voice Acting Adventures

Deedee Magno Hall became even more famous for her voice work as Pearl. She voiced Pearl on the Cartoon Network show Steven Universe from 2013 to 2019. She continued voicing Pearl in the follow-up series Steven Universe Future from 2019 to 2020. She also voiced other Pearl characters and many other small roles in both shows.

Deedee provided both the speaking and singing voice for Pearl in Steven Universe: The Movie. She also voiced Pearl in video games like Steven Universe: Attack the Light, Steven Universe: Save the Light, and Steven Universe: Unleash the Light.

She also voiced Snuggs in the cartoon series Doc McStuffins from 2016 to 2017. In the video game Epic Seven, she voiced three characters: Dorris, Dominel, and Pyllis.

In 2021, Deedee voiced several characters in the show Trese, including Emissary, Vina, and Newscaster. She also voiced Penelope and Elder Shrubdub in Dogs in Space. More recently, she voiced Rory in Craig of the Creek, Snowball and Fairy #2 in We Baby Bears, and Lola Belen in an episode of Firebuds. In 2023, Deedee voiced Miss Deer Teacher in the Disney cartoon series Kiff.

Deedee's Family Life

Deedee Magno Hall is married to Cliffton Hall. He is also an actor and has performed with her in many shows. They were in Miss Saigon and Wicked together. Cliffton also played Dan Goodman alongside Deedee in Next to Normal. They even played a couple, Donna Sheridan and Sam Carmichael, in a show of Mamma Mia! in Guam. Deedee and Cliffton have two sons named Kaeden and Brycen.
