History of Deer Park

Early Beginnings

The first home in the Deer Park area was built in 1795. This was by Samuel and Rebecca DeMent Pierson. It happened after the Treaty of Greenville was signed. This treaty helped protect settlers in Ohio from conflicts.

Growth and Development

In 1881, a railway called the Cincinnati, Lebanon and Northern Railway started running through the town. This helped Deer Park grow. By 1894, Deer Park had a store and a Catholic church. The community officially became a city in 1912.
