A Look Back in Time

A special marker at the station

The Deerfield Beach station was built in 1926. It was originally built by a company called the Seaboard Air Line Railway. You can find it at 1300 West Hillsboro Boulevard.

The station has a special look called Mediterranean Revival design. This style was popular for buildings in Florida. It includes cool features like arched doorways, stucco walls, and roofs made of barrel-shaped tiles. You can see similar designs at other old stations nearby.

Because of its unique history and design, the station was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 5, 1990. This means it's an important historical building in the U.S.

The South Florida Railway Museum

Did you know the historic station building is also home to a museum? It houses the South Florida Railway Museum. This museum is open to the public on Wednesdays and Saturdays. It's a great place to learn about trains and railway history!

Station Improvements

In 2010, the Florida Department of Transportation worked to restore the old station. This project cost about $380,000. They put on a new roof and made the inside lobby and restrooms much better. They also fixed the outside walls and installed new air conditioning.

Station Features

The Deerfield Beach station has two platforms, one for trains going north and one for trains going south. There are parking lots on both sides of the tracks.

The main station building is next to the northbound platform. Buses stop at a special loop area west of the southbound platform. If you need to get from one platform to the other, there's a sidewalk crossing at the north end of the station.
