Del Rey is a small community in Fresno County, California, United States. Its name comes from the Spanish phrase "of the King." It is known as a census-designated place (CDP). This means it is a community that the government counts for the census, but it is not officially a city or town.
In 2010, about 1,639 people lived in Del Rey. By 2020, the population was 1,358. Del Rey is located about 3.5 miles (5.6 km) south-southwest of Sanger. It sits at an elevation of 344 feet (105 meters) above sea level.

Del Rey covers a total area of about 1.2 square miles (3.1 square kilometers). All of this area is land. There are no large bodies of water within the community.
History of Del Rey
Del Rey was first called Clifton. It was named after Clift Wilkinson, who helped start the town. In 1885, a post office opened in Clifton.
Later, in 1898, the railroad changed the name of the place to Del Rey. This new name came from the "Rancho del Rey," a large piece of land where the train station was built. As mentioned, "Del Rey" means "of the King" in Spanish.
