Delintment Lake is a popular spot for outdoor adventures. It's a great place to spend time with family and friends, enjoying nature and different activities.
How Delintment Lake Was Made
This lake didn't always look the way it does today. It started as a group of small ponds created by beavers along Delintment Creek. This creek is a branch of Silver Creek in Harney County.
In 1940, the United States Forest Service decided to make these ponds bigger and connect them. Later, in 1953, local groups helped even more. They made changes to improve the lake, especially for fishing and other fun outdoor activities. The dam that holds the lake's water is 270 feet (82 m) long and 20 feet (6.1 m) high.
