Delsbo is a charming town in Sweden, located in Hudiksvall Municipality within Gävleborg County. In 2010, about 2,192 people called Delsbo home. It's found about 25 kilometers west of Hudiksvall, nestled near the beautiful Dellen lakes. Delsbo is especially known for its yearly gathering of musicians at a place called Delsbo Ancient Farm.

Many Villages in Delsbo
Delsbo is quite unique because it has a lot of small villages. Research from 2005 showed that Delsbo has the highest number of villages in all of Sweden! There are about 104 different villages spread out around the Delsbo area.
Some of these villages include Ava, Johannesberg, Loppet, and Långbacka. A local reporter once said that Delsbo is a place with "a village behind every tree." The number of people living in these villages can be anywhere from just one person to a couple of hundred.
Delsbo's Climate
Delsbo experiences a type of weather called a humid continental climate. This means it has four distinct seasons. Summers in Delsbo are usually quite warm, especially considering how far north it is.
Winters are generally moderate, not too harsh, but there are still clear differences between the seasons. For example, Delsbo has bigger seasonal changes than nearby Hudiksvall.
The Dellboskan Dialect
The people of Delsbo speak a special local dialect called Dellboskan. It's a type of Norrlandian dialect, which means it's similar to other dialects spoken in northern Sweden. Interestingly, it also has some features that sound a bit like Norwegian.
Here are a couple of examples of the Dellboskan dialect:
- Hän ä'nt sa ugalin means Det är inte så illa in standard Swedish, which translates to "It isn't (too) bad" in English.
- Dellenbiggda means Dellenbygden in standard Swedish, referring to "The Dellen area."
