Hudiksvall Municipality (Hudiksvalls kommun) is a local government area in Sweden. It is one of 290 such areas in the country. You can find it in Gävleborg County, which is in east-central Sweden. The main town and administrative center of the municipality is Hudiksvall.
This municipality was created in 1971. At that time, the City of Hudiksvall joined together with four smaller areas nearby. Before that, in 1952 and 1965, some smaller areas had also joined up. This helped to reduce the number of local government groups in the region.
