Demetrious Maxie, born on October 18, 1973, is a coach for the Edmonton Elks in the Canadian Football League (CFL). He is currently their special teams coordinator and defensive assistant. Before coaching, he played professional gridiron football as a defensive end.

Playing Career Highlights
Demetrious Maxie had a very successful playing career.
Winning the Grey Cup
While playing for the Baltimore Stallions, Maxie helped his team win the Grey Cup in 1995. This was special because the Stallions were the only non-Canadian team to ever win the Grey Cup. After that, he won two more Grey Cups with the Toronto Argonauts in 1996 and 1997.

Coaching Career
After his playing days, Demetrious Maxie became a football coach.
First Time with Edmonton
Maxie started coaching for the Edmonton Eskimos (now the Edmonton Elks) in 2016. He first coached the linebackers until 2017. From 2018 to 2023, he coached the defensive line for the team.
Coaching the Toronto Argonauts
On January 22, 2024, Maxie joined the Toronto Argonauts as their defensive line coach. In his first year with the Argonauts, he helped them win the 111th Grey Cup. This was his fourth Grey Cup win overall, combining his time as a player and a coach.
Return to the Edmonton Elks
On January 10, 2025, the Edmonton Elks announced that Maxie was returning to their team. He is now the special teams coordinator and a defensive assistant for the Elks.
