Demián Bichir was born in a city called Torreón in Mexico. His parents, Alejandro Bichir and Maricruz Nájera, are also actors. His brothers, Odiseo and Bruno, followed in their parents' footsteps and became actors too. His family has roots from Lebanon.
Demián worked with important theater groups like the National Theater Company. He studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute. He also helps people with immigration rights as an Ambassador for the American Civil Liberties Union. Demián has a daughter named Gala. His wife, Stefanie Sherk, passed away in 2019.
His Acting Career
Demián Bichir has played many different characters in movies and TV shows. He played Fidel Castro in the movie Che. He also played an immigrant in the movie A Better Life, which earned him an Academy Award nomination.
He starred in the crime TV series The Bridge. He also appeared in the western film The Hateful Eight. Demián even directed his own movie called A Circus Story & A Love Song. This movie was shown for the first time at the Morelia International Film Festival.
