Denhoff is a small community in central Sheridan County, North Dakota, in the United States. It is called an "unincorporated community" because it doesn't have its own local government like a city does. It is also a "census-designated place," which means the U.S. Census Bureau counts its population separately.
Denhoff is located along North Dakota Highway 200. It is east of McClusky, which is the main town in Sheridan County. In 2010, the population of Denhoff was reported as 20 people. By 2020, it had a population of 13.
Today, Denhoff has a church and nine houses where people live. The old post office is gone, and there are no businesses left. However, a seed packaging plant started working in Denhoff in 2009.

Denhoff's History and Growth
Denhoff used to be a busy place that served the farmers nearby. In the 1950s, it had its largest population, with over 350 residents. Back then, it had a post office, a church, a school, a gas station, and even a bar.
Changes in Farming and Population
After the 1960s, things started to change. Large companies began to manage farms, which meant fewer people were needed for farm work. This led to many people losing their jobs in Denhoff and the surrounding areas.
As people moved away to find work, the population of Denhoff got smaller. Because there were fewer residents, most of the businesses and services, like the school and gas station, eventually closed down. This caused even more people to leave the community.
