His Early Life
Denis Simpson was born in St. Ann's Bay, Jamaica, on November 4, 1950. When he was eight years old, his family moved to Canada. They settled in Scarborough, Ontario, when he was ten.
Denis went to Guildwood Public School. People remembered him as a very smart student. He was also known for being a kind and gentle young man. Later, he studied at York University for a year. There, he focused on music, theatre, and dance, which were his passions. His half-sister, Gloria Reuben, also became a well-known actress.

Denis Simpson had a long and exciting career in entertainment. He was known for his singing, acting, and hosting skills.
His Music Career
In 1978, Denis was the original bass singer for a group called The Nylons. This group became very famous for their unique singing style without instruments. However, Denis left the band in 1979 to perform in a big musical show. This happened before The Nylons became a huge success.
Hosting Polka Dot Door
One of Denis's most famous roles was as a host on the children's television series Polka Dot Door. He hosted the show from 1978 until the mid-1980s. Many kids grew up watching him on this popular program.
