Denny Lambert was born on January 7, 1970. He is a former professional Canadian ice hockey player. He is also a member of the Batchewana First Nation. Denny played hockey for many years before becoming a coach and then a police officer.

Denny Lambert: A Hockey Story
Denny Lambert started his hockey journey in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). He played for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds for three years. After that, he spent two seasons in the International Hockey League with the San Diego Gulls.
Playing Hockey
Denny then joined the National Hockey League (NHL). He signed with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim. Later, he played for the Ottawa Senators, Nashville Predators, and the Atlanta Thrashers. He returned to the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim for his last NHL season. He finished his playing career in the American Hockey League with the Milwaukee Admirals.
What is an Enforcer?
During his NHL career, Denny Lambert was known as an "enforcer." An enforcer is a hockey player whose main job is to protect their teammates. They also add toughness to the team. Denny played in 487 NHL games. He scored 27 goals and made 66 assists. He also spent a lot of time in the penalty box for rule violations, totaling 1391 penalty minutes.
Life After Playing
After retiring from playing, Denny Lambert became a coach. He started as an assistant coach for the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds. This was the same team he played for as a junior!
Coaching the Greyhounds
In 2008, Denny became the head coach of the Greyhounds. In his first year, the team was rebuilding. This means they were working to get better with new, younger players. They did not make the playoffs that season.
However, in his second season, the Greyhounds improved a lot. They had a strong record and made it to the playoffs. They played against the Plymouth Whalers but lost in five games. Denny coached for a third season in 2010-11. The team struggled, and he was replaced as coach during that season.
After his coaching career, Denny Lambert became a police officer. He joined the Anishinabek Police Service. He graduated from the Ontario Police College in 2012. In 2016, he returned to hockey as an associate coach for the Gatineau Olympiques in the QMJHL.
