Deweese is a small village located in Clay County, Nebraska, in the United States. In 2020, about 43 people lived there. It is part of the larger Hastings area.
History of Deweese
Deweese was officially started in 1885. This happened when the Burlington and Missouri River Railroad built its tracks to this spot. The village was named after James W. Deweese, who was a lawyer for the railroad company.
