Dewey is a small town located in Portage County, Wisconsin, in the United States. In the year 2000, about 975 people lived there. A small community called Torun is also part of the town of Dewey.
The town of Dewey was started in 1898. It was named after George Dewey, a famous naval admiral. He was known for winning a big battle called the Battle of Manila Bay in the same year the town was founded.
