D'Angela "Dia" Simms is a successful American business leader. In 2020, she became the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Lobos 1707 Tequila & Mezcal. Before this, she was the President of Combs Enterprises, a big company founded by Sean Combs. She was the very first person to hold the President role at Combs Enterprises, starting on May 15, 2017. Dia Simms grew up in Queens, New York, and now lives in Baltimore, Maryland. She studied at Morgan State University and the Florida Institute of Technology.

Dia Simms' Early Life and Education

Dia Simms was born D'Angela Banks in Monterey, California. When she was young, her family moved to Queens, New York. There, she went to St. Francis Preparatory School.

When Dia was nine, her mother was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis (MS). This is a condition that affects the brain and spinal cord. Her mother's strength and positive attitude helped inspire Dia as she grew up.

In 1999, Dia Simms earned a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland. She later earned her Master's degree in Management from the Florida Institute of Technology. She also has a special certification from the Defense Acquisition University.

Dia Simms' Career Journey

Dia Simms started her career working for the U.S. Department of Defense. After that, she moved into advertising and helped start a company called Madison Marketing Inc. She also worked in sales for big companies like GlaxoSmithKline and Clear Channel.

In 2005, Dia started working for Sean Combs as an assistant. She quickly moved up in his companies. She became a chief of staff, then General Manager of The Blue Flame Agency. She also became an executive vice president and president of Combs Wine & Spirits.

As president of Combs Wine & Spirits, Dia helped with the purchase and relaunch of DeLeón Tequila. She also helped grow the brand of Cîroc vodka.

On May 15, 2017, she was promoted to president of Combs Enterprises. This was a big step, as she was the first person to hold this important role. In this job, she oversaw many different businesses. These included Bad Boy Entertainment, Sean John, Combs Wine & Spirits (CÎROC Ultra Premium Vodka and DeLeón Tequila), AQUAhydrate, and Revolt TV.

Dia Simms has often shared that she has worked in industries mostly led by men. She believes it's important for women to feel strong and feminine at the same time.

In 2020, Dia Simms also invested in Saint Liberty Whiskey, a whiskey company led by women. She is also a board member for TILT Holdings.

Dia Simms has received many honors for her work:

Personal Life

Dia Simms married her husband, Keith, in 2007. They have one daughter. She lives with her family in Howard County, Maryland. Dia often travels to New York City for her work.
