Diane Charlemagne (born February 22, 1964 – died October 28, 2015) was a talented British singer and songwriter. She was known for her amazing voice in jazz, soul, funk, and electronic dance music.

About Diane Charlemagne
Diane started her music journey in the 1980s. She became the lead singer for a funk band called 52nd Street in 1984. She helped them create some great music.
Her Music Career
In 1990, the band 52nd Street changed its name to Cool Down Zone. Diane was still the lead singer. She also helped write all ten songs on their album, New Direction.
Later, Diane became the lead singer for Urban Cookie Collective. This group had two songs that reached the top 10 in the UK during the 1990s.
Diane's voice was also featured on a very famous song called "Inner City Life" by Goldie. She also sang live with the famous musician Moby at many of his concerts.
Working with Other Artists
Diane loved to work with many different musicians. In 2006, she teamed up with Scape for a dance song called Be My Friend. She used the name D Empress for this song.
In 2007, she worked with High Contrast on his song "If We Ever." The next year, she worked with D:Ream, a band that had recently reunited.
Diane continued to collaborate with many artists. In 2011, she worked with Aquasky on their dubstep song "Take Me There." In 2012, she sang on "Wanna Die For You" by Netsky. She also worked with S.P.Y on his drum and bass song "Hammer in My Heart."
In 2014, Diane worked with S.P.Y again on several songs. She also joined London Elektricity and S.P.Y for a song called "I Am Somebody." This song was made to help the Street Child World Cup.
In 2015, Diane sang backing vocals for Ricky Valance's song "Welcome Home." This song helped raise money for charities that support the RAF (Royal Air Force).
Sadly, Diane passed away on October 28, 2015, at the age of 51. She had been battling kidney cancer.
