Diane Neal (born November 17, 1976) is an American actress. She is famous for playing New York Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak in the TV show Law & Order: Special Victims Unit. She was on the show from 2003 to 2012. Diane Neal is also known for her role as Special Agent Abigail Borin in the NCIS TV series.

Diane Neal was born in Alexandria, Virginia. She is the youngest of three daughters. Her mother, Colleen Neal, was a math teacher. Her father, Christopher Neal, was a federal attorney. Diane grew up in Littleton, Colorado, and also in Ohio.

After finishing high school at Heritage High School, she moved to Hawaii for college. Later, she left school to become a model and travel. She modeled for famous brands like Shiseido and Pond's. In 2009, Diane decided to go back to school. She studied at Harvard University's Harvard Extension School and earned a degree in 2018.

Acting Roles

Diane Neal first appeared on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as a guest star in 2001. She later joined the show as Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak in its fifth season. She took over the role from Stephanie March.

Diane played Casey Novak until the end of Season 9. In 2011, she returned to the show as Novak for a few more episodes. She became a recurring character in Season 13. Her last appearance was in an episode called "Valentine's Day". In 2021, Diane Neal starred in the TV movie Circle of Deception.
