Dichen Lachman (born 22 February 1982) is an Australian actress and model. She is partly of Tibetan background. Dichen became well-known for playing Katya Kinski in the TV show Neighbours from 2005 to 2007. She also starred as Sierra in the science fiction series Dollhouse from 2009 to 2010.
She has played many interesting characters in other TV shows. These include Suren in Being Human (2012) and Tani Tumrenjack in Last Resort (2012–2013). Dichen also appeared as Jiaying in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. (2014–2020). Later, she was Reileen Kawahara in Altered Carbon (2018–2020). She played Frankie in Animal Kingdom (2018–2021) and Ms. Casey in Severance (2022–present).
Dichen Lachman has also been in several movies. Some of these are Aquamarine (2006) and Bled (2009). She also appeared in Lust for Love (2014) and Too Late (2015). More recently, she was in Bad Therapy (2020) and Joe Baby (2024). She also starred in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes (2024). Since her role as Soyona Santos in Jurassic World Dominion (2022), she has continued this role in the Jurassic Park world. She voices Soyona in the animated series Jurassic World: Chaos Theory (2024).

Early Life and Background
Dichen Lachman was born in Kathmandu, Nepal. In the early 1990s, she moved to Adelaide, Australia, with her family.
Her mother is Tibetan, and her father is Australian with German roots. Dichen went to several schools in Adelaide. These included West Lakes Primary School and Norwood Morialta High School. She also attended the University of Adelaide. After finishing her work on the Australian TV show Neighbours in 2007, she moved to Los Angeles to pursue her acting career.
Acting Career Highlights
Dichen Lachman's first acting job was in an advertisement for Wanadoo in Australia. This ad was shown in the United Kingdom. In 2005, she joined the cast of the Australian soap opera Neighbours. She played the character Katya Kinski. Dichen had originally tried out for a different role, but the producers liked her so much they created the part of Katya just for her.
Early Film and TV Roles
Dichen had a small part in the movie Aquamarine. After that, she filmed the role of Aaren in the movie Bled. She then joined the cast of Aztec Rex in Hawaii. In 2006, while visiting England, she appeared on the BBC cooking show Ready Steady Cook. She later shared that she moved to Los Angeles to further her acting career. She also mentioned she would love to work in the UK and Australia again.
On March 26, 2008, it was announced that Dichen would play Sierra in the TV series Dollhouse. This show was created by Joss Whedon.
In 2009, Dichen was asked about a rumor that she might star in a Star Wars TV show. She said she was a huge fan of George Lucas and the movies. She added that it would be a dream come true to be part of the Star Wars universe.
Guest Appearances and Main Roles
Dichen has made guest appearances on several popular TV shows. She played an insurance agent on NCIS: Los Angeles. She also appeared as Amy Hanamoa, a police officer's widow, in an episode of Hawaii Five-0. In 2011, Dichen made a brief appearance in Torchwood: Miracle Day, a spin-off of Doctor Who. That same year, it was announced she would join the cast of Being Human as a regular character. She also had a small role in the web-series The Guild.
In 2012, Dichen joined the pilot for Last Resort for ABC. She became a main character for the show's 13 episodes. She also guest starred in the web series Husbands.
Producing and Recent Work
Between 2010 and 2013, Dichen and her friend Anton King worked on producing the movie Lust for Love. Anton King wrote the script in 2010. They used Kickstarter to raise money for the film. Their first goal was to raise $70,000. By November 11, 2011, over 1,500 people had pledged money, reaching more than $101,030. They also got more funds from friends and family to finish the movie.
In 2014, Dichen began filming in Canada. She joined the cast of The 100 as Anya. She also had a recurring role on ABC's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..
On June 11, 2015, a new movie called Too Late, starring Dichen, was released at the Los Angeles Film Festival. In October 2015, it was announced that Dichen would have a recurring role on the third season of The Last Ship. She played Jesse, a helicopter pilot. She also starred as Reileen Kawahara in Netflix's series Altered Carbon. This show is based on a 2002 novel. The first season came out on February 2, 2018. Also in 2018, Dichen started a recurring role as Frankie on Animal Kingdom.
In 2020, she returned for short storylines on Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Altered Carbon. She also appeared in the film Bad Therapy. In 2022, Dichen joined the main cast of Severance, which premiered on Apple TV+. She played Ms. Casey, a wellness counselor. The series was highly praised, and Dichen was nominated for an award for her role. Soon after, she appeared as the villain Soyona Santos in the 2022 film Jurassic World Dominion. Dichen was then announced as the main character in Steven Brand's thriller Joe Baby. In 2024, she was announced to star in the thriller Unholy Night.
Personal Life
Dichen Lachman married American actor Maximilian Osinski in January 2015. They welcomed their daughter in May 2015.
