Early Life and Education

Dick King was born in Ritzville, Washington, on August 30, 1934. He went to the University of Washington. There, he earned two degrees: a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) and a Master of Arts (M.A.). These degrees helped him prepare for his future career.

A Dedicated Teacher

Besides being a politician, Dick King was also a dedicated educator. He taught at Everett Community College for 31 years. He worked there until he retired in the 1990s. Teaching was a big part of his life.

Dick King was a member of the Democratic Party. He served in the Washington House of Representatives. This is a part of the state government that makes laws. He represented the 38th district, which included parts of Snohomish County.
