Diego Armando Maradona Jr. (born Diego Armando Sinagra; September 20, 1986) is an Argentine-Italian football coach and former player. He also played professional beach soccer. Currently, he is the head coach for the Spanish club Ibarra. He is the son of famous Argentine footballer Diego Maradona.

About Diego Maradona Jr.

Diego Jr. was born in Naples, Italy. He was raised by his mother, Cristiana Sinagra. In 1993, a court in Naples officially recognized him as Diego Maradona's son. Because of this, he took his father's last name.

He first met his father in 2003 at a golf tournament. Later, in 2007, his father publicly said that Diego Jr. was his son.

Diego Jr. loved football from a young age. He started playing and showed great skill, just like his father. When he was 11, he joined the youth team of Napoli. He even played for the Italian national team for players under 17. In 2004, he joined the youth team of Genoa for one season.

On June 10, 2015, Diego Jr. married Nunzia Pennino in Naples. They even received a special blessing from Pope Francis.

On August 25, 2016, his father, Diego Maradona, publicly recognized Diego Jr. in Argentina. He told the media, "I love him a lot and he’s very like me."

Playing Football in Italy

Diego Jr. started playing for senior football teams in 2005. He joined Cervia, an amateur team in the Eccellenza division. This team was part of a national football reality show called Campioni - Il sogno (Champions - The Dream).

In January 2006, he moved to Internapoli. He played only a couple of games there because of an injury. In 2007, he joined Quarto, another team in the Eccellenza league. Quarto won their playoffs that season and moved up to Serie D, which is a higher amateur league.

Diego Jr. stayed with Quarto for the 2007–08 Serie D season. However, he left the club in November 2007 after the coach changed. He then signed with Venafro, another Serie D team. On January 21, 2008, he scored his first goal for Venafro from far away. After that season, he left Venafro to play beach soccer.

He later played for other amateur clubs like Boys Caivanese and Arzanesse.

In June 2008, he joined a beach soccer team called A.S.D. Mare di Roma. He scored his first goal in Beach Soccer's Serie A on June 27. He scored six goals in three matches for Mare di Roma. This helped him get picked for Italy's squad for the 2008 FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup.
