Dilano van 't Hoff was a talented Dutch racing driver. He was born on July 26, 2004. Dilano became famous for winning the 2021 F4 Spanish Championship. Sadly, he passed away on July 1, 2023, after a crash during a race in Belgium.

Dilano van 't Hoff's Racing Journey
Starting with Karting
Dilano van 't Hoff began his international racing career very young. He was just eleven years old when he started karting. Karting is a type of racing with small, open-wheel vehicles.
In 2018, Dilano did very well. He finished third in two big karting events. These were the IAME Euro Series and the IAME International Final. He also placed sixth in his first year of the CIK-FIA Karting European Championship. The next year, he finished fifth in the same championship. He even won the Trofeo delle Industrie with his team, Forza Racing.
Racing in Lower Formula Series
In 2021, Dilano moved up to single-seater racing cars. He joined Xcel Motorsport for the 2021 Formula 4 UAE Championship. His season started with great success. He won two races right away from pole position.
Dilano kept winning, taking two more victories at Yas Marina Circuit. He also won a race at Dubai Autodrome. He nearly won the championship. In the end, he lost by just one point to Enzo Trulli.
For his main racing season, Dilano joined MP Motorsport. He raced in the 2021 F4 Spanish Championship. He quickly won his first two races at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps. He then had an amazing streak of six podium finishes in a row. This included three more wins.
He won another race at Circuit Ricardo Tormo. At the second-to-last race weekend, Dilano was on fire. He got three pole positions and won all three races. This incredible performance made him the champion of the 2021 F4 Spanish Championship.
Competing in Formula Regional European Championship
First Races in 2021
In September 2021, Dilano got a chance to race in the 2021 Formula Regional European Championship. He joined MP Motorsport as a guest driver. He raced at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo.
The 2022 Season
Dilano raced full-time in the 2022 Formula Regional European Championship. He continued with MP Motorsport. During the season, he had a shoulder injury. This meant he had to miss some races for an operation.
When he returned, he showed great courage. He managed to get a podium finish at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. This helped him finish 19th in the standings. Later, it was found that his first surgery had issues. He had to have a second operation in the winter.
The 2023 Season
Dilano returned to the FRECA series for the 2023 Formula Regional European Championship. He was still with MP Motorsport. Before the race weekend at Spa, he had already scored points in two races. His best finish was seventh place at Imola Circuit.
His Passing
On July 1, 2023, Dilano van 't Hoff was in a multi-car crash. This happened during a Formula Regional European Championship race. The race was at Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium. It was raining heavily at the time.
The accident happened at the exit of a fast corner called Raidillon. Dilano lost control of his car. Another car then hit the side of his vehicle. Many people in the motorsport world were very sad. They paid their respects to Dilano.
Racing drivers like Lance Stroll and Max Verstappen spoke about the accident. They called for changes to the Spa-Francorchamps track. They wanted to make it safer for drivers. This was especially important after a similar fatal crash in 2019.
