Dilara Kazimova (born May 20, 1984) is a talented singer and actress from Azerbaijan. She is best known for representing her country at the Eurovision Song Contest 2014 in Copenhagen. Her song for the contest was called "Start a Fire".

Music Career and Eurovision
Dilara was born in Baku, the capital city of Azerbaijan. She loved music from a young age. She studied singing at the Baku Academy of Music. After finishing her studies, she even sang for a short time in an opera group.
In the early 2000s, Dilara joined a rock band called Unformal. Later, she became the main singer for a duo named Milk & Kisses. Both of these bands tried to represent Azerbaijan at the Eurovision Song Contest. Unformal came in second place in 2008. Milk & Kisses also placed second in 2010. In 2010, Milk & Kisses performed at the New Wave music festival in Jurmala, Latvia.
In 2014, Dilara decided to try for Eurovision by herself. She won the national competition in Azerbaijan. Her song for the contest was "Start a Fire". The song and its music video were released on March 16, 2014.
Dilara performed "Start a Fire" in the first semi-final of the Eurovision contest. She did very well, finishing 9th. This meant she qualified for the Grand Final. In the final, she placed 22nd.
Other Projects
In 2014, Dilara also took part in a TV show. It was the Ukrainian version of the famous talent show The Voice. The show is called Holos Krayiny in Ukraine.
Besides singing, Dilara is also an actress. She has appeared in two Azerbaijani movies. In 2006, she was in a short film called Try Not to Breathe. In 2007, she acted in a film called Purgatory. For Purgatory, her band Unformal recorded the soundtrack song "Sonsuz yol".
In May 2022, Dilara performed at the EuroVillage festival in Baku. This event helps to promote good relationships between the European Union and Azerbaijan.
