Dinakshie Priyasad, born on March 18, 1990, is a talented actress and television presenter from Sri Lanka. Her full name is Baminnahennadige Dinakshie Priyasad. She started acting at a very young age, making her first appearance in a film when she was just two years old. This film, Apaye Thathpara 84,000, was directed by her own father, Dinesh Priyasad.

About Dinakshie's Early Life
Dinakshie Priyasad was born in Colombo, Sri Lanka. She is the oldest of three daughters. Her parents are Dinesh Priyasad and Shirani Priyasad. Dinakshie and her family are devoted Catholics. Her father, Dinesh, is a well-known film director. He was a pioneer in using new technologies and graphics in Sri Lankan movies. One of his most famous films is the 1995 action movie Demodara Palama. Dinakshie's mother has also produced films that her father directed. Dinakshie has two younger sisters, Sheshadri Priyasad and Shanudrie Priyasad. Both of her sisters are also actresses in Sri Lankan films and TV shows.
Dinakshie went to Holy Family Convent, Bambalapitiya for her early education. She completed her pre-university studies at the Royal Institute International School in Colombo, focusing on Maths. After that, she joined the Open University of Sri Lanka. She is currently studying engineering there to earn her Bachelor's degree. She is also working on a diploma in Media and Mass Communication at the University of Sri Jayewardenepura.
Dinakshie's Career Journey
Dinakshie's acting journey began in 1992 when she was only two years old. She appeared in her father's film, Apaye Thathpara 84,000. Her first big acting role came in 2009. This was in a TV drama called Wassana Sihinaya. The drama was based on a popular romantic novel by Upul Shantha Sannasgala. Janaka Siriwardana produced and directed this teledrama.
In 2009, Dinakshie also played the main character in the teledrama Sanda Giri Pawwa. She played a teacher in a rural area. Dinakshie has said that this was her most challenging role. The character was a teacher who overcame extreme poverty to succeed in life. Showing these strong emotions was difficult. The filming also took place in very tough rural areas in the Kurunagala district. Her next teledrama was Hithata Wahal Weemi. This was based on a popular picture story by Sarath Kaviratne. In this teledrama, directed by Mohan Niyaz, Dinakshie played the character of Nimmi.
In 2019, News4masses named Dinakshie the number one 'Most Beautiful Actresses and Models' in Sri Lanka. Dinakshie is one of the few artists who started as a TV presenter and teledrama actress and then reached the top.
Dinakshie has also been the lead actress in four music videos. These include "Unuhuma" by Tehan Perera and "Yahamin duka kiyaganna" by Prabudda Geetha Ruchi. She also appeared in "Aya Enathura" by Doctor Band and "Ra Ahase" by Billy Fernando. In 2021, she was featured in Raffealla Fernando's Celebrity Calendar. Many other Sri Lankan celebrities were also part of this calendar.
