Saranga Disasekara (Sinhala: සාරංග දිසාසේකර) was born on January 31, 1983. He is a famous actor, singer, model, and TV host from Sri Lanka. Saranga has won the award for the most popular television actor in Sri Lanka many times. These awards include the Sumathi Awards, Raigam Tele'es, and SLIM-Nielsen Peoples Awards. He is also known for hosting the reality show Hiru Star.

Early Life and Education

Saranga Disasekara grew up in Kalubowila, Sri Lanka. His father, Narada Disasekara, was a singer. His mother, Tileka Ranasinghe, was a radio host and actress. Saranga went to Thurstan College in Colombo for his schooling. Later, he studied at Northumbria University in Newcastle. His uncle, Douglas Ranasinghe, is also a well-known artist in Sri Lanka. After studying computer science, Saranga started his career in commercials. He also took on small acting roles in movies.

Acting Career

Saranga began acting at a young age. When he was 10, he appeared in a short film called Marana Samapthiya. He then worked on many TV commercials and radio shows. His first big movie role was in Nil Diya Yahana. In this film, he acted alongside Chathurika Peiris. The movie was directed by Dayaratne Ratagedara. Before that, he had a small part in the 2003 film Irasma.

Saranga has starred in many popular TV dramas. These shows cover different types of stories. He has acted in dramas, sad stories, thrillers, and comedies.
