These parks are located in Plant City, Florida; Glen Rose, Texas; and Cave City, Kentucky. Each amazing dinosaur was created by Christer Svensson. The first park opened in Florida in November 1998. The Kentucky park opened five years later. The Texas location followed five years after that.
Discover Dinosaur World
This park chain brings dinosaurs to life. You can explore huge outdoor areas. Here, life-size dinosaur statues stand among real plants. These plants are like those from the time of the dinosaurs. Small signs help you learn about them. It's like stepping back millions of years!
Meet the Dinosaurs!
Over 150 amazing dinosaur sculptures fill each park. They are placed to look like real animals in the wild. You might see a giant Tyrannosaurus rex hiding in the trees. Or a long-necked Brachiosaurus near a pond. The goal is to make you feel like you've traveled back in time.
How Dinosaurs are Made
Ever wonder how these huge dinosaurs are built? The dinosaur sculptures start with a carved polystyrene foam base. This foam is then covered with fiberglass. After that, a special putty is added. This putty is shaped to look like dinosaur skin. Finally, the dinosaur is painted with realistic colors. Each dinosaur is made right at the park. About three new dinosaur replicas are added every year.
Fun Activities
At Dinosaur World, there are also fun activities for visitors. One popular spot is the "Fossil Dig." Here, kids can dig in a sand table. They can search for real fossils! It's a great way to learn about ancient life.
