The Diocese of Karlstad (Swedish: Karlstads stift) is an important part of the Church of Sweden. It is like a special church district with its main office, called an episcopal see, in the city of Karlstad. This diocese covers most of two provinces in Sweden: Värmland and Dalsland. Its current boundaries have been in place since 1693.

The Current Bishop
As of 2025, the current bishop of Karlstad is Sören Dalevi. He became the bishop in 2016. Bishop Dalevi is responsible for leading the diocese. He also works with other bishops in the Church of Sweden.
