Disney Channel is a TV channel for kids and families in Scandinavia. It is owned by The Walt Disney Company. The channel started broadcasting on February 28, 2003. It shows Disney TV shows and movies all day long.

What's on Disney Channel?

Disney Channel mainly shows TV series and movies from Disney. You can watch your favorite Disney characters and stories! Many shows are dubbed, which means their voices are changed into local languages like Danish, Norwegian, Swedish, and Finnish. This makes it easier for everyone to enjoy.

Sometimes, the channel also shows other popular cartoons. For example, shows like The Fairly OddParents and Scaredy Squirrel have been shown here.

Other Disney Channels

Besides the main Disney Channel, there were other channels for different age groups.

Disney XD

Disney XD was a channel mostly for older kids, especially boys. It showed action-packed cartoons and live-action shows. It started on September 12, 2009, taking the place of two older channels called Jetix and Toon Disney. Disney XD used to have commercials. This channel stopped broadcasting on December 31, 2020.

Disney Junior

Disney Junior is a channel made for younger kids, like preschoolers. It started in October 2006. At first, it was called Playhouse Disney. On September 10, 2011, its name changed to Disney Junior. This channel shows gentle, educational programs for little ones.

Disney Channel Websites

In 2007, Disney Channel launched a special video service online called Disney Play. This website let kids in Scandinavia watch videos and play games. The website was updated a few times over the years to look more modern and offer new features.
