Chronology
Preceded by Oh Yeah! Cartoons
Followed by The Fairly OddParents: Fairly Odder

The Fairly OddParents is a popular American cartoon show. It was created by Butch Hartman for Nickelodeon. The show is about a 10-year-old boy named Timmy Turner. He has two secret fairy godparents, Cosmo and Wanda. They can grant him almost any wish he wants! Timmy often uses his wishes to solve his everyday problems. But sometimes, his wishes cause even bigger, funnier problems.

How the Show Started

The idea for The Fairly OddParents first appeared in short cartoons. These shorts were part of Nickelodeon's show called Oh Yeah! Cartoons. They aired from 1998 to 2001. People loved these short cartoons so much. Because of their popularity, Nickelodeon decided to make it a full TV series.

The first episode of the half-hour series aired on March 30, 2001. The show originally stopped making new episodes on November 25, 2006. At that time, there were five seasons. But fans missed it, so production started again in 2008. The show officially stopped making new episodes when Butch Hartman left Nickelodeon in February 2018.

You can watch all seasons of The Fairly OddParents on Paramount+. It is one of Nickelodeon's longest-running animated shows. Only SpongeBob SquarePants has been on longer.
