Disney XD was a TV channel for kids and teens in Scandinavia. It broadcast for 16 hours every day, from 6:00 AM to 10:00 PM. The channel started on September 12, 2009. It took the place of two older channels, Jetix and Toon Disney.
Jetix used to stop broadcasting at 6:00 PM, but Disney XD offered more hours of fun. Like Jetix, Disney XD showed commercials. Toon Disney, however, did not have any ads.
Disney XD was available in many countries. These included Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Iceland, Lithuania, Latvia, and Estonia. You could watch it through different TV providers. For example, in Denmark, it was available through Boxer.
The channel was made for kids and teens aged 6 to 15 years old. Disney XD stopped broadcasting on December 31, 2020.
Awesome Shows and Movies
Disney XD showed many cool series and movies. Some of these shows were already popular on Toon Disney and Jetix. But Disney XD also brought new types of shows. It included live-action series, which means shows with real actors. It also showed feature films.
Some of the series that moved from Jetix to Disney XD included Pokémon Battle Dimension, Galactik Football, and Dinosaur King. The very first show aired on Disney XD was The Legend of Tarzan. The first movie shown was Ratatouille. You could also watch series that were originally on Disney Channel.
Movies on Weekends
Movies were usually shown on weekends. Sometimes, they would be on during the week too. The channel played different kinds of movies. These included original movies made by Disney. They also showed films from Walt Disney Pictures, Columbia Pictures, and Universal Studios. Sometimes, local films were also broadcast.
