Division (military) facts for kids

Kids Encyclopedia Facts

A division in an army is about 10,000- 20,000 soldiers, led by a Major General. It is made up of several brigades. In a Navy it has a different meaning. It usually refers to a sub-unit of several ships within a squadron or flotilla.
