Diyi Yang's Journey in Computer Science
Diyi Yang started her university studies at Shanghai Jiao Tong University. In July 2013, she earned a bachelor's degree in Computer Science. She then continued her education at Carnegie Mellon University. There, she earned a master's degree in May 2015. She also completed her Ph.D. (a very advanced degree) in February 2019.
What Did Diyi Yang Study?
For her Ph.D. project, Diyi Yang created special computer programs. These programs helped computers understand "social roles" in groups of people. She combined machine learning with ideas from sociology and social psychology. This research helps computers better understand how people interact.
Teaching and Leading Research
