History of Dodson
Dodson got its name from a merchant. This person ran a trading post and a saloon here. This was before the Great Northern Railway built its tracks through the area. The town's first post office opened in 1891.

Where is Dodson?
Dodson is located close to the Fort Belknap Indian Reservation. It sits between the Milk River and the Little Rocky Mountains. The Fort Belknap Indian Reservation is home to the Gros Ventre and Assiniboine Native American tribes.
