Dominic Rains (born Amin Nazemzadeh on March 1, 1982) is an Iranian-American actor. He is famous for his roles in movies like The Taqwacores (2010) and A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night (2014). You might also know him as Dr. Crockett Marcel in Chicago Med or as Kasius in Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D..

About Dominic Rains

Dominic Rains was born in Tehran, Iran. When he was very young, his family moved to London, England. Later, they moved to the United States, where he grew up in Dallas, Texas. He went to The Colony High School in Texas. Dominic also has a younger brother, Ethan Rains, who is also an actor!

Dominic started his acting journey in 2003. One of his first roles was in the TV movie Saving Jessica Lynch. In 2006, he appeared in another popular TV movie called Flight 93.

From 2007 to 2008, Dominic played Dr. Leo Julian in General Hospital: Night Shift. This was a special show that came from the popular daytime soap opera General Hospital. When Dominic couldn't return for the second season, his brother Ethan took over the role! After General Hospital, Dominic appeared in many other TV shows. These include 24, Flash Forward, Burn Notice, and NCIS.

His Work in Movies

In 2010, Dominic became well-known for his role in the independent film The Taqwacores. This movie was based on a book about a unique punk rock scene. Critics really liked his acting in this film. The New York Times said his performance was "particularly eye-catching." He even won an award for best actor at an international film festival for this role!

Later in 2010, he started filming for the main role in a supernatural thriller movie called Jinn. The movie came out in 2014. Dominic played Shawn Walker, a young car designer who discovers an old secret. This secret puts his whole family in danger.

Dominic also starred as Saeed in the horror film A Girl Walks Home Alone at Night. This movie was a big hit at the Sundance Film Festival. Many critics praised it, and it was released in the US in late 2014.

In 2014, Dominic worked with his brother Ethan on a short film called Still Here. This film was inspired by a real-life event involving their cousin. It was about a serious health misdiagnosis.

His Work in TV Shows

In 2019, Dominic joined the cast of the NBC medical drama Chicago Med. He plays Dr. Crockett Marcel, a new trauma surgeon. Dr. Marcel comes from New Orleans and is a very skilled surgeon, but he can also be a bit reckless. His confident attitude often gets him and others into tricky situations as he adjusts to his new life in Chicago.

Besides his work in movies and TV, Dominic also performs in plays. He is part of the Los Angeles-based Elephant Theatre Company. He has acted in several plays with them, including Desert Sunrise and The North Plan.
