Dominique Claude Rocheteau (born 14 January 1955) is a famous French former football player. He was a winger, which means he played on the sides of the field. He was known for being very fast and skillful.
Dominique Rocheteau played for the French national team in three FIFA World Cups. He scored at least one goal in each of these tournaments. He was also part of the team that won the UEFA Euro 1984 championship. At the club level, he won four French league titles and three French Cups. He also played in the final of the 1976 European Cup Final.

Dominique Rocheteau's Club Career
Starting at Saint-Étienne
Dominique Rocheteau started his professional football journey with AS Saint-Étienne. At that time, Saint-Étienne was one of the most successful and popular football teams in France. Fans nicknamed him l'Ange Vert, which means "The Green Angel". This was because of his graceful playing style and the team's green jerseys.
In 1976, Saint-Étienne reached the final of the European Cup. This was a very big European club competition. Rocheteau was injured, so he only played for the last eight minutes of the game. His team lost 1–0 to Bayern Munich.
Winning Titles with Saint-Étienne
During his time with Saint-Étienne, Rocheteau helped them win the French league title, called Division 1, three times. They won in 1974, 1975, and 1976. He also won the Coupe de France (French Cup) with them in 1977.
One of his most memorable moments was in 1976. Saint-Étienne was playing against Dynamo Kyiv in the European Cup quarter-finals. They had lost the first game 2–0. But in the second game, Rocheteau scored a crucial goal in extra time. This helped his team win 3–0 and move on to the next round.
Moving to Paris Saint-Germain and Toulouse
In 1980, Rocheteau moved to Paris Saint-Germain. With this club, he won another Division 1 title in 1986. He also won two more Coupes de France in 1982 and 1983.
After seven years with Paris Saint-Germain, he joined Toulouse FC in 1987. He played for two seasons there before he retired from professional football in 1989.
