Acting Career

Early Roles and Big Breaks (1997–1999)

In 1995, when Dominique Swain was 15 years old, she got a very important role. She was chosen from 2,500 other girls to play the main character, Dolores "Lolita" Haze, in the movie Lolita. This film was based on a famous book.

That same year, Swain also acted in the action thriller Face/Off. In this movie, she played Jamie, the rebellious teenage daughter of a character played by John Travolta. Critics liked her performance in Face/Off. One review said she had good chemistry with John Travolta.

Independent Films (2000–2006)

In the early 2000s, Dominique Swain took on many roles in independent films. These are movies made outside of the big Hollywood studios. Some of these films included The Smokers, Intern, Pumpkin, and New Best Friend.

She also worked with actor Brad Renfro on three different movies: Happy Campers, Tart, and The Job. In 2006, she starred in Totally Awesome, which was a funny movie that made fun of teen movies from the 1980s. She also had a supporting role in the movie Alpha Dog.

Recent Work (2007–Present)

Since 2007, Dominique Swain has continued to act in many films, often in the horror, action, and thriller genres. In 2007, she was the main star in the supernatural horror film Dead Mary.

She also received good reviews for her acting in the 2010 thriller Road to Nowhere. A film critic called it a "stylish" movie.
