"Don't Say You Love Me" is the very first song released by M2M. This was a pop duo from Norway, made up of two singers named Marion Raven and Marit Larsen.

The song first became popular on Radio Disney. It was officially released in the US in October 1999. You might know it from the movie Pokémon: The First Movie. It was on the movie's soundtrack in November 1999 and played during the closing credits. The song also appeared on M2M's first album, Shades of Purple (2000). People really liked the song. Chuck Taylor from Billboard magazine said it was "absolutely enchanting." He thought it would be liked by both young people and adults.

"Don't Say You Love Me" was a big hit for M2M. It reached number 2 in Norway, their home country. It also hit number 4 in Australia and New Zealand. In the UK, it reached number 16, and in the US, it got to number 21 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. The song was so popular that it was certified gold in both the US and Australia. This means it sold a lot of copies! It remained M2M's most successful song.

M2M performed "Don't Say You Love Me" on several TV shows. These included One World, Top of the Pops, and Disney Channel in Concert. Two different music videos were made for the song. One of them included fun clips from Pokémon: The First Movie.
