Disney Channel in Concert was a cool TV show that featured famous music artists performing live concerts. It also showed a bit about their lives! The show featured all kinds of music, like hip-hop, country, pop, and even classical. It was made to be super interesting for teens and helped make the artists even more popular. A show called Behind the Ears, hosted by RuDee Sade Lipscomb, often promoted these concerts. This series aired from 1997 to 2001.

What Was Each Show Like?

Each episode of Disney Channel in Concert was special. It showed a live concert by a popular artist. You also got to see documentary parts about the artist's life. This included their hobbies and what they loved to do. The show also featured interviews with their teachers, friends, and family.

These concert specials usually lasted about an hour. They aired on Fridays, and you could often catch reruns later on Disney Channel.

Why Did the Show End?

Disney Channel stopped airing In Concert in late 2001. They also stopped showing many music videos. One reason was that Disney couldn't get a share of the money from the artists' CD sales. Also, they didn't have special rights to show the music videos.

However, Disney Channel still showed music videos from songs in Disney movies. They also played songs by artists from Radio Disney and those signed to Disney's own music companies, like Hollywood Records and Walt Disney Records.
