Donald David Washington III (born July 28, 1986) is a former American football player. He played as a cornerback, which is a defensive position in football. Donald played college football for the Ohio State Buckeyes.
He was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs in the 2009 NFL draft. Before college, he played high school football at Franklin Central High School in Indianapolis. Donald also played in the Canadian Football League (CFL) for the Toronto Argonauts and Hamilton Tiger-Cats.

Donald's College Football Journey
Donald Washington started at Ohio State in 2005. He spent his first year practicing with the scout team. This team helps the main players get ready for games.
In 2006, he was named the team's best freshman. He started nine games as a cornerback. He made 41 tackles, which means he stopped the player with the ball. He also caused two fumbles, where the ball is dropped.
As a sophomore, Donald started all 13 games. He made 39 tackles and recovered a fumble. He also intercepted a pass and ran it 70 yards for a touchdown!
In 2008, Donald missed the first two games because of a team rule. He said, "I'll be honest and admit I made a mistake." He learned from it and returned to play as a reserve. He had 22 tackles and another interception. After this season, Donald decided to enter the 2009 NFL Draft early.
Becoming a Pro Football Player
Donald Washington was picked by the Kansas City Chiefs in the fourth round of the 2009 NFL draft. This meant he was now a professional football player!
Playing for the Kansas City Chiefs
With the Chiefs, Donald played as a backup strong safety. In 2011, he had a good season. He made 25 tackles, forced one fumble, and broke up one pass.
Joining the Toronto Argonauts (CFL)
On May 7, 2014, Donald signed with the Toronto Argonauts. This team plays in the Canadian Football League (CFL). During the 2014 CFL season, Donald made 14 tackles on defense. He also made one tackle on special teams. He was released by the Argonauts in June 2015.
Time with the Pittsburgh Steelers
Donald signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers on May 7, 2016. He joined them after a tryout at their rookie camp. However, he was released by the Steelers in September 2016 as teams finalized their rosters.
