Donna Vekić (born 28 June 1996) is a professional tennis player from Croatia. She is known for her powerful serves and strong groundstrokes. Donna has achieved a high singles ranking of world No. 18. She has also won a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris.
Donna has won four singles titles on the WTA Tour. These wins happened at the 2014 Malaysian Open, the 2017 Nottingham Open, the 2021 Courmayeur Ladies Open, and the 2023 Monterrey Open. She has also won five singles titles and one doubles title on the ITF Circuit.

Early Life and Training
Donna Vekić was born in Osijek, Croatia. Her father, Igor, was a goalkeeper for a football team. She also has a brother named Bruno.
Donna started playing tennis when she was just six years old. When she was nine, she began training at the famous IMG Academy. This academy helps young athletes develop their skills.
Joining the Professional Tour
Donna became a professional tennis player in September 2012. She quickly showed her talent. In February 2012, she played for the Croatia Fed Cup team. She helped her country win against Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Later that year, at the Tashkent Open, Donna reached her first final on the WTA Tour. She was the youngest player in six years to make it to a WTA final.

Breaking into the Top 100 (2013)
Donna started 2013 by playing in the Australian Open. She won her first match there. She then played against former world No. 1, Caroline Wozniacki.
She also played in the Miami Open. She won a $50,000 tournament in Istanbul. By the end of 2013, Donna was ranked No. 86 in the world. This was her first time finishing a year in the top 100.
First WTA Title (2014)
In 2014, Donna won her first big WTA title. This happened at the Malaysian Open. She beat the top-seeded player, Dominika Cibulková, in the final.
