About the Show
Dora's New Adventures
In Dora and Friends, Dora is now 10 years old. She goes to school and lives in a big city called Playa Verde, California. Dora has five amazing friends. They are Kate, Emma, Alana, Naiya, and Pablo.
- Kate loves art and being creative.
- Emma is passionate about music.
- Alana enjoys sports and caring for animals.
- Naiya is very smart and loves to read.
- Pablo is a big fan of playing soccer.
Together, Dora and her friends go on exciting adventures. They work as a team to discover the secrets of their city.
Special Tools and Languages
Dora has a special charm bracelet. This bracelet helps her get past obstacles. She also has a smartphone. On her phone, there's an app that works like the map from her old show. It helps her find her way.
All the characters in the show speak two languages. They speak both English and Spanish. The show teaches more Spanish phrases than the original Dora the Explorer. It uses simple sentences and commands.
Returning Friends
In the second season, some characters from the original Dora the Explorer show come back. You might see Boots, Benny the Bull, Isa the Iguana, Tico the Squirrel, and Swiper the Fox. Even the Big Red Chicken makes an appearance! They show up as guest stars in certain episodes.
One special episode is "Return to the Rainforest." In this episode, Dora goes back to the rainforest in Mexico. She needs to rescue Map and Backpack. Swiper takes them from Boots, and then a strong wind carries them away. Backpack gets torn, but Kate fixes and redesigns it. A young flower named Bud also joins Backpack. Bud helps Backpack find things inside her for Dora.
Later in season two, Map comes back. It replaces Dora's map app. In another episode called "For the Birds," older versions of Diego, Alicia, Baby Jaguar (now called "Jaguar"), and the Bobo Brothers from Go, Diego, Go! also appear. Some famous people like Megan Hilty and Christina Milian even lent their voices to characters in the show.
