Dr. Phillips is a special kind of community in Orange County, Florida, United States. It's called a census-designated place, which means it's an area that the government counts as a town for statistics, even though it doesn't have its own city government.
This area is a suburb of Orlando. It's part of the bigger Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford area. In 2010, about 10,981 people lived here.
The name Dr. Phillips comes from a man named Dr. Phillip Phillips. He was a very important person in the citrus industry in Central Florida. He came up with new ways to process and package orange juice. By the 1920s, he owned thousands of acres of orange groves. These groves stretched across nine counties in Central Florida. They included areas like Bay Hill and Turkey Lake Park.
