Dree Louise Crisman Hemingway, born on December 4, 1987, is an American fashion model and actress. She became well-known for her main role in the movie Starlet (2012). She is also famous for her work in fashion campaigns and many independent films.
Early Life and Education
Dree Louise Crisman Hemingway was born in Sun Valley, Idaho. Her mother is actress Mariel Hemingway, and her father is Stephen Crisman. She is also the niece of the late model and actress Margaux Hemingway, who passed away when Dree was 8 years old. The famous author Ernest Hemingway is her great-grandfather on her mother's side. Dree also has a younger sister named Langley Fox.
She grew up in Ketchum, Idaho, and went to Ernest Hemingway Elementary School. Later, she moved to California and lived in Westlake Village. She attended Oaks Christian High School for two and a half years. After that, she left school to start her modeling career. In 2003, she was presented as a debutante at the Bal des débutantes in Paris, France. This is a special event where young women from well-known families are introduced to society.
Modeling Career Highlights
Dree Hemingway began her modeling career in March 2009. She made her first appearance on the runway for Givenchy in Paris. In June 2009, she walked in the Calvin Klein resort show in New York. The next September, she opened the Topshop show in London.
In January 2010, she became the new face for Gianfranco Ferré advertising. Later that year, she was featured in a new ad campaign for Salvatore Ferragamo perfume. She was also photographed by Bryan Adams for Zoo Magazine in 2011.

Dree Hemingway followed in her mother's and aunt's footsteps by starting an acting career. She has mostly appeared in independent films. Her first main role was in the independent movie Starlet (2012). This film was directed by Sean Baker. She and the other actors in the movie received the Independent Spirit Robert Altman Award in 2012. This award is given to a film's director, casting director, and ensemble cast.
She has had supporting roles in movies like Listen Up Philip (2014) and While We're Young (2014). She also had leading roles in The People Garden and Live Cargo. The movie Live Cargo was first shown at the 2016 Tribeca Film Festival.
