The title Duke of Lennox is a very old and important title in Scotland. It's like being a special leader or noble. The name comes from a place called Lennox in Dumbarton. This title has been created a few times for different families, especially for a group called Clan Stewart of Darnley.

The first time the Dukedom of Lennox was created was in 1581. Before that, it was a slightly lower title called the Earldom of Lennox. Over time, some Dukes of Lennox also became Dukes of Richmond. Today, the person holding the title of Duke of Lennox also holds the titles of Duke of Richmond and Duke of Gordon. This means the current Duke holds three important dukedom titles!
