Dumbarton (ward) facts for kids
Dumbarton is an area in West Dunbartonshire, Scotland. It's one of the special areas called "wards" that help choose people to represent the community. These representatives are called "Councillors." The Dumbarton ward chooses four Councillors to work on the West Dunbartonshire Council.
This ward covers most of the town of Dumbarton. It also includes the nearby villages of Milton and Bowling, which are located near the Firth of Clyde. However, some northern parts of Dumbarton, like Bellsmyre, Broadmeadow, and Lomondgate, belong to a different ward called Leven ward.

What is a Ward?
A ward is like a local neighbourhood or area used for elections. When people vote for their local council, they vote for candidates in their specific ward. This helps make sure that different parts of a town or city have their own voices heard in the council.
