Dunlap is a small, quiet community in Fresno County, California. It's not a city with its own government, but rather an unincorporated community. This means it's part of the county, not a separate town. Dunlap sits high up at about 1,919 feet (585 meters) above sea level. About 131 people live here. It's located about 38 miles (61 km) east of the city of Fresno. Long ago, in the 1800s, Dunlap was an important stop for stagecoaches. Travelers would rest here, and horses would be changed for fresh ones.

St. Nicholas Ranch and Monastery
One of the main attractions is the Greek Orthodox Church's St. Nicholas Ranch. It's a special place for conferences and retreats. The Greek Orthodox Monastery (Convent) of the Theotokos, the Life-Giving Spring, is also located here. Before the church bought the land, it was known as the Sally K Ranch. Some of the old ranch buildings are still used today.
The Barn Church
On the ranch property, there's a very old barn. It's completely built from redwood trees. Inside, on the second floor, you'll find a chapel. Locals call it "The Barn Church" or "St. Nicholas Chapel." It has a simple design and is even home to a colony of bats! This huge barn was built in 1891. It was originally used to house farm animals. The chapel was added much later. In the late 1800s, the barn also stored ice for the city of Fresno. Large blocks of ice were cut in the winter, possibly from nearby Hume Lake. Then, they were moved to the barn for storage. Even though the barn doesn't house livestock anymore, you can still see the original animal enclosures inside.
Sierra Endangered Cat Haven
Close to Dunlap, along Highway 180, you can find the Sierra Endangered Cat Haven. This special place is home to many kinds of wild cats. It's a great spot to learn about these amazing animals and how to protect them.
Hye Camp
Hye Camp is another interesting spot in Dunlap. It used to be owned by Olympian Bob Mathias. Now, the Armenian Church of the Western Diocese owns and runs it. It's used as a youth camp and a retreat center. Kids and teens can come here for fun activities and learning.
