Dušan Petković, born on June 13, 1974, is a former professional football player from Serbia. He was known as a strong defender. He played for many different clubs in several countries and also represented his country, Serbia and Montenegro, on the international stage.
Dušan Petković's Football Journey
Dušan Petković had a long and interesting career playing football. He started out in his home country, Serbia, and then traveled to play in other parts of the world.
Playing for Different Clubs
Dušan began his professional career in 1992 with OFK Beograd in Serbia. He played there for a few years before moving to Spain in 1995. In Spain, he joined Mallorca and also spent some time on loan at Écija Balompié.
After his time in Spain, Dušan returned to OFK Beograd. He then moved to Japan in 1997 to play for Yokohama Marinos. This was a unique experience playing in a different league and culture.
He came back to OFK Beograd again in 1999. Later, he moved to Germany in 2001, where he played for Wolfsburg. He also had a loan spell at Nürnberg.
In 2004, Dušan played in Russia for Spartak Moscow. He had another short period back at OFK Beograd in 2005. His last club was Saturn Moscow Oblast in Russia, where he played until 2007.
Playing for His Country
Dušan Petković also had the honor of playing for his national team, Serbia and Montenegro. He represented his country from 2000 to 2004. During this time, he played in 7 international matches. He was even part of the Serbia and Montenegro Squad 2006 World Cup team, which is a big achievement for any football player.
